At the last Championship show, the LKA on the 14th we were thrilled with our kennels results under judge Mr Robin Newhouse. Our own 'Rio' won her first official Post Graduate Bitch class from a very strong entry. Lou & Justen Corkhill's Lapema bred girl 'Ava' takes 2nd place just behind the CC winner in Limit Bitch handled by Kerry & seeing 'Ava' being qualified for CRUFTS 2014! Linda & Seth Jerman's 'Reina', also handled by Kerry takes VHC in Open Bitch.
At Midland Counties Champ show on the 25th judge Mr Jeff Luscott placed our boy ‘Castiel’ VHC in Limit Dog against some stiff competition – boy did we have to work for this place!! The class of 14 was seen & judged, then cut down by half to see us move again, then down to just 5 remaining, then we all had to challenge against each other for our placings – phew! This show was time for ‘Rio’ to move out of Junior due to age & into her first official Post Graduate Bitch class where she was awarded a great 2nd place.
At Darlington Champ show on the 14th breed specialist judge Sue Smith saw our team worthy of some very nice placings. Our red girl ‘Rio’ won her very strong Junior Bitch class, again sealing her Junior Warrant with some more points. Eve Dunks ‘Lumen’ campaigned by us, her breeders at Lapema for the season takes a 3rd place in Limit Bitch.
A very rainy Driffield Champ show was held on the 19th. Judge Steve Myring placed our ‘Rio’ in pole position in her 2 classes entered today, Junior & Yearling Bitch with some fabulous comments on her. Eve Dunks ‘Lumen’ took 3rd place in Limit Bitch.
Thrilled to bits with our results from the AMCUK Club Champ show on the 28th. Our judge for males was breed specialist Mr Walt Howarth (Hawkam) who placed our ‘Castiel’ VHC in a quality Limit Dog class. Our judge this year for bitches was breed specialist & club President Mr Keith Givens (Shomont), who awarded our ‘Rio’ 1st place in Junior Bitch, Special Yearling Bitch & much to our surprise a very respectable 3rd place in Post Graduate, all the classes were numerically strong with some very quality bitches for Rio’s competition, Rio then had to challenge against 2 male juniors for the title of Best Junior In Speciality Show under both the dog & the bitch judge. Rio was ultimately awarded the honour of being Best Junior In Show. Super day!!
Our first show of the month was Richmond on the 7th under breed specialist Mr Jim Broadberry (Hyteton) we are over the moon to see our 'Rio' Justami Meoquanee Per Lapema, a girl from our Torres' first litter, bred by Lou & Justen Corkhill, takes her final points needed to obtain her Junior Warrant - we are astounded by the success of this young female, she is a true showgirl. Rio gaining this award makes her a NEW BREED RECORD HOLDER being the first Red Alaskan Malamute female to gain the JUNIOR WARRANT title!! We are all thrilled to bits!! We would like to thank all judges who have appreciated 'Rio' & placed her so highly to be able to achieve this award. Also today Mark Walkers boy 'Oscar' takes yet another Crufts qualifier by being placed 3rd in Puppy Dog, Debbie Prouts 'Maisie' is placed 2nd in Limit Bitch & Eve Dunk 'Lumen' takes a lovely 3rd in Post Grad bitch.
At City Of Birmingham Champ show on the 31st Team Lapema finish the month on a high under breed specialist Barbara Stanier (Artictreks), an especially good day for our Torres babies. Our very own Torres daughter 'Rio' Justami Meoquanee Per Lapema wins her very strong Junior Bitch class. Lapema Doppia Vittora 'Zoe' co-owned with Pamela Wilkinson, Kerry Jelfs & Karen Rowley qualifies for Crufts 2014 at her 2nd show out of a huge entry of 12 puppies, the highest class entry of the day. Kerry handled Mark Walker's 'Oscar' Lapema Doppio Massimo to be placed 3rd in his Puppy Dog class, yet another qualifier for him. A great day too for progeny sired by our foundation boy Rafa seeing his daughter 'Maisie', owned by Debbie Prout, being placed 2nd in a very large Limit Bitch class. Litter siblings 'Hunter' & 'Spirit' bred by Jane Brook at Snobruk also received good results with 'Hunter', owned by Wayne Davey & Simon Greenway, being placed VHC in Limit Dog & his sister 'Spirit' owned by Jane Brook winning her Post Graduate Bitch class. Well done to all.
Our first show of the month was Paignton Champ show on the 5th seeing Lapema being placed well in the cards again including a couple of class wins under judge Hedd Richards. Castiel, although a little under the weather today was an impressive 3rd place in Limit Dog, Eve Dunk's Lumen was placed 2nd in Post Grad Bitch & the superstars were our own girls Rio & Cielo both taking pole position in their classes Junior & Limit!!

Great news from Bournemouth Champ, Rafa son Hunter wins Limit Dog & also takes the RESERVE DOG CC!!!!! Huge congrats to owners Wayne Davey & Simon Greenway!! Also Debbie Prout's Rafa girl Maisie is Crufts Qualified for 2014 by taking 2nd in Post Grad Bitch.

Welsh Kennel Club held on the 17th this year & again Lapema placed well. Rio is placed 2nd in Junior Bitch, Lumen 2nd in Post Grad Bitch & Cielo RES in Limit Bitch.

On the 13th July we had a scorcher of a day at NW&PBs Champ show at the gorgeous venue of Three Counties in Malvern. Lapema took some super placings under breed specialist Sharon Loades. Our Rio was placed RES in Junior Bitch, our Cielo took a RES in a very strong Limit Bitch class & once again Eve Dunk's Lumen handled by Kerry wins her class!!! This means that Lumen has now won herself out of the Post Graduate Bitch class, no easy feat but Lumen has taken this showing lark all in her stride!

The second AMCUK Open show on the year made its debut on the 14th again at Three Counties. A lovely show with fab atmosphere & some more lovely placings for our team under judge Kevin Young. Rio takes 2nd in Junior Bitch, Cielo takes RES in Limit Bitch & Castiel is placed 3rd in Limit Dog. A real fun day with a fundraiser by ourselves for AMCUK Malamute Rescue, with many people's good sportsmanship & generosity we managed to raise £162 - thanks to all for the donations!!!

More great results for team Lapema under breed specialist Nicola Singh, seeing Rio placed 3rd in Junior Bitch, Eve's Lumen yet again win another Post Graduate Bitch class & our own Cielo working hard in a very large & quality Limit Bitch class to be placed 3rd.

On the 7th Castiel gains his Show Certificate Of Merit (ShCM) after picking up his last points needed at Ludlow Open show & finishing this title in style with a great win of 1st AVNSC Working Open, Best AVNSC Open & WORKING GROUP 1!!! Thanks to judge Mr Mike Vines - we are over the moon with this achievement!!!
We made the long trek to the borders of Scotland on the 16th to Border Union Champ show under judge Tan Negrecha, gaining some great placings. Castiel takes RES Limit Dog, Rio 3rd Junior Bitch, Cielo 2nd Limit Bitch & Eve Dunk's Lumen, campaigned by Lapema, wins Post Grad Bitch.

On the 30th a fab day had by all at Windsor Champ show. Amazing results for our team seeing our own Castiel placed 1st in Limit Dog, only missing out on the top spot to another grandson of our gorgeous foundation boy Rafa. Our baby of the bunch Rio is placed a very respectable 3rd in Junior Bitch. Eve Dunks Lapema girl Lumen, takes pole position her first time in Limit Bitch, gaining her a stud book number & lifetime CRUFTS Qualification!! To top the day off nicely, Lumen then goes on to win the RESERVE BITCH CC at 19months old!!!!!! Our tahnks to judge Simon Luxmoore. Lumen is the 3rd dog from the same fabulous litter the 'Podenzo's' to gain her stud book number & lifetime qualification with our Castiel gaining his at 12months with his Junior Warrant, our Cielo gaining hers with a RBCC out of Junior at 17months & now Lumen with a RBCC at 19months - wow, what a litter!!
On the 26th we had a fabulous day at Bath Champ show under Breed Specialist judge Jo Sugden. Team Lapema hit it off with a flying start by Mark Walker's 'Oscar' Lapema Doppio Massimo winning the first 2 classes, Minor Puppy Dog & Puppy Dog, handled on this occasion by Kerry, Oscar later went on to win BEST PUPPY IN BREED!!! All this at his very first champ show at just turned 6 months - Oscar's family were delighted as were we. 'Castiel' hit the big boy class today & took RES in a very strong Limit Dog class. 'Rio' was placed a very respectable 3rd in Junior Bitch & Eve Dunks 'Lumen' campaigned by us this season, yet again wins a very strong Post Graduate Bitch class. Super day for our team, thanks as always to our judge.

Our second day of showing for this weekend on the 19th at Coventry KA, no breed classes today so AVNSC. Castiel was placed 2nd in AVNSC Open & then was called back in to be awarded RESERVE AVNSC!!! Castiel was only beaten by a Champion so we are chuffed to bits. Thanks to our judge Del Richards.

On the 11th it was a very tough day, but we owed it to the big man Rafa to campaign his children & grandchildren in his honour & memory at Birmingham National Champ Show under judge Marion Sargent. We had some lovely results, Rio won his Junior Bitch class, the strongest numerically of the day, Castiel was placed VHC in his Junior Dog class, Senna, after a 10months break from the show ring was placed VHC in a quality Open Bitch class & Eve Dunks Lumen, campaigned here at Lapema for this season, takes 1st place in her Undergraduate Bitch class. Well done also to Lou Corkhill with her Lapema girl Ava being placed RES in Junior bitch. Our thanks to our judge on the day.

Heartbreak hit Lapema as we said goodbye to our foundation male, the stunning 'Rafa' BVISS RBISS Gwinner Lapema Star De Jungla Negra ShCM Imp Esp, on the 10th. Words cannot express the lose we feel, almost too much to bear. Please view our amazing tribute to our amazing boy who will always be in our hearts......

WOW! What a fabulous day for team Lapema at WELKS Champ show on the 28th under renowned 'Dog Show Whisperer' Liz Dunhill. Our star of the day was our very own home bred girl from the 'Podenzo' litter 'Cielo' who won a very strong Junior Bitch class then went on to challenge to win the RESERVE BITCH CC!!!!! As always Cielo was handled brilliantly by Mike & we are all over the moon to see such great results at her tender age of 17months out of a very strong bitch line up. Our boy 'Castiel' was placed a very respectable 2nd in Junior Dog behind the RDCC winner. Baby 'Rio' took VHC in her first Junior class at Champ show level. Lastly, but by no means least, Eve Dunks 'Lumen', who is being campaigned by us for the show season, takes the top spot in her Post Graduate Bitch class. Amazing day, thrilled to bits!
At CRUFTS which took place on the 10th we were judged by breed specialist Ms Sue Ellis (Chayo) & our team took home some fabulous results. Firstly, our home bred boy 'Castiel' takes 2nd place in Junior Dog. Our Torres girl 'Rio' bred by Lou & Justen at Justami wows the day by taking 1st in Special Puppy Bitch losing out to Best Puppy In Breed to her cousin who won the Special Puppy Dog class, both Best Puppies today were grandsired by our very own foundation boy 'Rafa'. Kerry then handled 'Lumen', litter sister to our Castiel, owned by Eve & Matt Dunk at Everheart, to win her very strong Special Yearling Bitch class. Massive congrats also to Castiel & Lumens litter sister 'Ava' owned by Lou & Justen Corkhill for taking RES in her Junior Bitch class also their Dougal, our Rio's half brother is placed VHC in Post Graduate Dog, another Rafa grandson. Fantastic results for us & our extended family, gratitude to our judge on the day Sue Ellis for thinking so highly of our team.
Fabulous results for Team Lapema at Llynfi Valley Open show on the 24th. Our homebred superstar 'Castiel' wins Open, takes BEST OF BREED then in a very strong group Castiel goes on to be awarded WORKING GROUP ONE!!! Our Torres baby 'Rio' also had some great results seeing her win her Graduate class against competition twice her age, BEST PUPPY IN BREED then go on to be awarded WORKING PUPPY GROUP 2!! Great day for us, our gratitude as always for our judge, Mrs Caroline Friend-Rees, for thinking so highly of our babies.

Very proud of little Rio this week at our Club Match at Ringcraft under judge Christine Owen. Rio wins her knock out competition & is awarded Best Puppy In Match & then has to stay way past her bedtime to challenge against the adult winner & she wins being awarded BEST IN MATCH all at the tender age of 9months!!! Rio has some lovely trophies & rosettes to add to her collection for being quite simply a little superstar.

On the 17th under breed specialist judge Debbie Prout, our Torres girl Rio wins her Junior class then goes on to take the award for BEST PUPPY IN BREED & RES BEST OF BREED!!! Castiel AKA 'Mr Hormonal' at the moment is awarded 2nd place in Post Graduate, just missing out on the top spot by his older half brother.
Our first show of the year was very successful seeing our Rio & Castiel taking the first 2 top spots in the Junior class from a very good Open Show class entry of 6, under judge Mr Bill Browne Cole. Rio, handled brilliantly by Mike, won the class & then went on to gain BEST PUPPY IN BREED!! Castiel was placed just behind his buddy with a 2nd place in the same class.

We are thrilled to officially announce that it has been confirmed by the Kennel Club that 'Castiel' Lapema Angel De Cambios (Ch. Chayo All Eyes On Me 'Enzo' x Neskyla Star Sopra Lapema 'Senna') has obtained his JUNIOR WARRANT at 12months!!!! Castiel is the 15th Alaskan Malamute to ever obtain this prestigious award.

Also, it was confirmed that Castiel is a FINALIST for the SOUTH WALES KA DOG OF THE YEAR COMPETITION 2012 to take place the week before CRUFTS on the 2nd March 2013.

Our fabulous homebred boy 'Castiel' is also officially confirmed that he is OVERALL TOP ALASKAN MALAMUTE PUPPY 2012!!!!!! Absolutely over the moon with Castiel's acheivements since his show ring debut in May 2012. We must thank all the judges that have appreciated Castiel in his past 7months of showing, without these placings the awards would not have been possible so we feel our gratitude should be made quite apparent - a huge thank you to you all again.
